ENZED Sponsored young gun wrapped up his 2017 season over with a tough weekend in Newcastle. All four PRA cars struggled to adapt to the new street circuit, with 13th and 23rd place finishes relegating Cam to 8th in championship points by the end of the weekend. The picturesque Newcastle circuit provided a memorable venue for the title to be decided, with competitors praising the street circuit for its elevation changes and incredible views.
Cam struggled all weekend to find a car setting that suited the tight street circuit, with a 12th in Sunday’s qualifying the highest the number 6 was on the leaderboard throughout the weekend.
“Overall looking at the positives, it was a much better year than last year. Eighth in the points, got a win, podiums, poles, so we ticked a lot of goals we wanted to at the beginning of the year, so that was cool. Today’s result was a pretty bad way to finish the year. Spent a lot of the day stuck behind slower cars, and in the final stint (Garth) Tander just moved over on me under brakes while I was trying to pass him and bent the steering arm. Not sure where he was expecting me to go, but it is what it is. Tough end to a very good year, and we’ll look to go better in 2018,” said Cam
With the 2017 season over, for fans attentions now turn towards the 2018 season. For drivers, it’s a well-deserved break for the guys and girls who have been busy racing and travelling since early in the year.
