Cameron Waters Winning Start To 2015

ENZED’s Cameron Waters was on the game as soon as he hit the track in his ENZED PRA Falcon at the Adelaide street circuit for the Clipsal 500 as part of Round 1 of the Dunlop Series, qualifying on pole with the largest margin (0.6589) to 2nd place ever at Adelaide!

For Race 1 Cameron started off pole and capitalised early, heading the field into turn 1 and quickly put daylight between himself and the rest of the field. Leading comfortably, it was only a safety car that condensed the field and meant a single lap sprint to the finish. Cam controlled the restart and took the chequered flag with a win and a perfect start to the race weekend and season.

Race 2 saw Cameron again starting off pole, however a little too much wheelspin allowed Dumbrell to gain advantage into the senna chicane. Dumbrell had pace, but Waters stuck with him and the two drivers were soon well clear of the pack.

A thrilling battle ensued and some trading of places occurred which was great racing to watch. As the chequered flag dropped, Cam had secured a strong second place.

“Our start to the 2015 season could not have gone much better. We were P1 in every session, led every lap in Race 1 and finished second to PD in Race 2 which was a
real quality battle. Both of us were pushing hard, passing and re-passing each other and we had nothing left. I’m sure it won’t be the last time we race that hard this year.

“Our pace in the ENZED Ford was awesome, and we go into Perth for Round 2 tied for the series lead. It’s a long season but I’m stoked with how we have started it and
I’m really excited about what we can achieve this year.”

Round 2 of the Dunlop Series takes place at the Perth SuperSprint May 1st to 3rd and Waters will be looking to solidify his start to the season and cement his intentions of winning the Championship.
