Muscle Car Masters

October 05, 2015

Round 6 of the ENZED Touring Car Masters took place at Sydney Motorsport Park and proved to be an exciting weekend of racing.

John Bowe combined his experience and speed with the dialled in Holden Torana SL/R 5000 to clean sweep the weekend, with pole, a new lap record and 3 wins from 3 starts, resulting in a comfortable round win and propelling him to within 37 points of the championship lead.

The championship standings took on a new dimension after the weekend, with former points series leader Andrew Miedecke enduring a rough weekend and catapulting the ever consistent Jim Richards into the championship lead with only two rounds remaining.

One of the stories of the weekend was the one and only Neil Crompton (V8 Supercar commentator and ex racer) making his TCM debut in a Ford Mustang. Crompton had not lost his old magic, with a fourth in race one and third in race two as well as a grin from ear to ear getting back behind the wheel.

Round 7 of the ENZED Touring Car Masters at Mount Panorama will be the penultimate round and the big question is whether John Bowe can close the gap and grab the lead of the championship or if Gentleman Jim Richards can stay out of trouble and finish high enough to hold on ahead of the final round at Phillip Island in November.
